This shirt has been haunting me at Urban Outfitters for weeks. Want, want, want. Should I spend that much on a tee shirt? No — I should wait for it to go on sale. I so didn’t. That’s the advantage of having birthday money — you can spend it on fun items just because! I’m not sure what grabbed here but it was love at first sight. It just looked so cool hanging there. Notice I had to tie knots in the bottom because I’m so short! Apparently the woman behind me in line at TJ Maxx wasn’t so enamoured of said shirt when I was wearing it a few days later. She actually almost yelled at me! She exclaimed, “What the hell are you wearing? That’s no way for a young lady to go out in public! You can’t do any better?” I just giggled.

I’m doing a pretty good job of this colour thing! Though this dress was also available in black, I chose to buy it in pink. It was being worn to a communion with a luncheon afterward, so I decided that for daytime it should be something colourful, pretty and soft. I’m not usually a “dress” girl. I don’t find them creative enough. Once you’ve worn it that’s it. No other way to style it really. I do see their place in the world though. Sometimes you just need that look. The Rubik’s Cube bag is from this super fun store in Italy called Carpisa. I’ve had it forever but I still get so many compliments every time I use it. Cute right?

Last night we met friends for supper at the Palm Too in New York City. Great food and great company! After dinner we set out to take pictures and found this great piece of architecture outside of the Nigerian Consulate! We also realized that directly behind us was an amazing view of the Chrysler Building all lit up.
At 10:30 in the evening it was still a whopping 99 degrees fahrenheit! Way too hot and humid for me! I usually wear this dress with a belt for some definition, but the temperature just wouldn’t allow me to have anything constricting or touching me at all! I couldn’t even put on a necklace because the thought of something around my neck in this heat just wasn’t happening!
