Blanket Statement

Blanket Statement

You’ve all seen the hype around wearing blanket wraps. The monogrammed Burberry one in particular was super popular this season. On a less expensive note, however, there are so many options available that still look super cool and keep you nice and toasty. I found this one at the Zara sale. It’s so soft. I’ve thrown it over everything from jeans to a skirt and top. It’s also an amazing option when you want to be warm, but don’t want to lug a coat around.

How Have You Been?

Did anyone else get totally overwhelmed by the holiday season, family events, stuff going on? Not to mention not enough daylight hours to take pictures! Ugh! Sorry I haven’t been around. I haven’t even had a chance to share this amazing wrap coat/cape with all of you. You see, the Zara closest to me was closed for what seemed like an eternity (or three months) to revamp the store. The outcome was totally worth it because it’s beautiful now, but the withdrawal symptoms were kind of hard to deal with (#bloggerproblems). This was one of the first things I bought when they reopened. It’s roomy enough to put great layers underneath. You know all those sweaters you own that don’t fit under a proper coat? Problem solved!

Truly Madly Deeply

This shirt has been haunting me at Urban Outfitters for weeks. Want, want, want. Should I spend that much on a tee shirt? No — I should wait for it to go on sale. I so didn’t. That’s the advantage of having birthday money — you can spend it on fun items just because! I’m not sure what grabbed here but it was love at first sight. It just looked so cool hanging there. Notice I had to tie knots in the bottom because I’m so short! Apparently the woman behind me in line at TJ Maxx wasn’t so enamoured of said shirt when I was wearing it a few days later. She actually almost yelled at me! She exclaimed, “What the hell are you wearing? That’s no way for a young lady to go out in public! You can’t do any better?” I just giggled.

It’s A Wrap

Literally! Anything scarf, scarf related, wrap, etc. just screams chic in my book. You can take an ordinary outfit and completely change the vibe with one simple accessory. While there is a huge price range when in comes to scarves you really don’t need to spend a fortune to achieve the goal. This baby is from Forever 21 and cost a whopping $8.90. Hence, I bought 4 in different colours. Even my mum was taken by it. While there are a plethora of videos out there on how to tie or style a scarf sometimes the nonchalant approach says more. Just throw it over your shoulders. There’s something to be said for the “I didn’t try too hard” look. Give it a shot!
