Falling For Fall

It’s finally here. Most people are excited for spring to spring. I can never wait for fall to fall! Sweaters, boots, scarves, leather — bring it on! Break out the black and go for it. Living in the Northeast automatically turns your closet into a sea of darkness somehow. I sometimes walk through stores saying to myself, “Don’t buy more black.” It doesn’t work though. I always walk out with at least one black piece that screamed “I’m chick and you need me!”. Like this sweater for instance. I got it a little while ago at Saks and I’ve been waiting for the perfect cool day to wear it. Today was that day. It was sunny, brisk and breezy. Perfect! I love the combination of black and silver and a friend made me a black and silver scarf that just went too perfectly so I played it up with black and silver jewellery, boots and my biker jacket too. I had a “matchy matchy” day!

Canada Day Eh!

I don’t even know where to start! Last night we went to a concert in Central Park at the Summerstage in honour of Canada Day. The Canada Day International event is organized by my cousin Shain and, if I may say so myself, he did an amazing job! We were VIPs for the evening which means access to everything! I am a Canadian after all! We hung out in the VIP tent and backstage with the artists. Such an amazing experience. The event was hosted by George Stroumboulopoulos and Spirit of the West, Joel Plaskett and Lights performed. It was unbelievably hot and humid, not such a great hair day, but we got our festival style on and thoroughly enjoyed! Can’t wait for next year!

A Lily and a Rainbow

On our way out to supper at a local Italian restaurant that we go to almost every Sunday. Casual enough that you could probably go in your pajamas if you were so inclined. I, however, am not one to do that so I wore boyfriend jeans and a cute top. I love pairing a nice top with ripped up jeans. There’s just something cool about that. These beautiful lilies had just bloomed in the front of the house so I couldn’t resist photographing those. We had a thunderstorm and on the way home this beautiful rainbow appeared. Enjoy!

Yesterday was just a brown day. Brown everything. I guess it’s a break from black. Living in the New York Metropolitan area I’m prone to wearing boatloads of black though lately I’ve been trying to mix it up a little and brighten things up for spring. This look combined comfort, trendy and a little edgy all at once. And, once again, I defaulted to some of those cute spring booties! By the way… it’s hard to type with a chihuahua sitting on your hands and half on your laptop!
