Today my blog turns 3! While I haven’t accomplished everything I wished when I started my blog I look back at some of my old posts and realize how much I’ve grown as a blogger. My main goal now is to blog more frequently and consistently. I hope you all continue to enjoy my posts and are inspired by my outfit choices. Thank you all for following me throughout my challenges with breast cancer and bearing with me. This blog would be nothing without all of you! And now for my French inspired, yet funky in its own way outfit…

OK. They’re suede but Suede and Lace didn’t have as nice a ring to it. Close enough! We ventured into New York City for our anniversary on Saturday night. I was hoping to be able to take more pictures when we got there but traffic didn’t allow us to do that. By the time we got into the City we were just in time for our reservation and it was dark. Oh well. I wanted something pretty but not fussy. Have you noticed I’m not much of a dress girl? I got this amazing Free People lace tunic and wore it over my Rag & Bone suede pants. I love how the sleeves gently cascade over my hands. A plus to having short arms? How could I pass up an opportunity to wear the Louboutin? They go with everything!

Sorry for the absence. Sometimes life just gets in the way! Anyhoo… the jeans — the trendy splatter paint. My husband said he could have done this on his own but I found them at TJ Maxx and they were such a steal that I couldn’t resist. I’ve never owned Paige Premium jeans before but they’re super soft. More please! I love the super cool zipper detail so I utilized the nonchalant “half-tuck” to show it off. To chic them up a little for nighttime a flowing black top from BCBG and black open toe booties did the trick. Yup. It’s that time of year again. Not my favourite as I prefer the chill of winter, but unavoidable nonetheless. My little Lubi was looking particularly dashing so he got to share the spotlight today. Isn’t he adorable?

So for this first day of spring we had a snow storm. Go figure. I wouldn’t have minded if I hadn’t had to go into New York for the day. What a mess! Oh well — the positive — I can still wear my favourite winter clothes. Oh how I’ll miss them.
I know people have a thing against Abercrombie & Fitch but they have some really nice pieces and the prices are so reasonable. I paired a soft classic white shirt with high waisted, faux leather leggings, booties and an oversized wrap. So simple, but so chic. I’ve always wanted to try the exposed black bra under a white shirt but never felt it appropriate. I finally decided that I didn’t care. Since my reconstruction post breast cancer I don’t actually need a bra for functional purposes so I’m obsessed with these little Calvin Klein bralettes. They look like a tank and they’re seamless and wireless so they don’t hurt.
Oh… one last thing. Can we talk about these Prada sunglasses? Fabulous doesn’t even begin to describe!

There’s something so nonchalant, and dare I say sexy, about wearing a shirt that looks like it’s from your husband’s closet. Unbuttoned as much as possible and not too neat for even more effect. Then pair it with a fab pair of coated skinnies and some amazing flat boots and you’ve got that “model off duty” look down pat. To add even more take an amazing artsy scarf and drape it over your shoulders without even thinking about where it falls. Easy, breezy.

Fringes are huge right now in the trend department. Were they ever out? Boho essential no? I love to spin around and watch them fly around. So silly. Like they weren’t enough fun on their own I wore the cardigan over this super fun Free People slip dress styled as a top over pants. There’s so much going on in this outfit! The florals, lace, fringes… Too much? Nah. Why? Because the consistent colour pallet gives it balance and softness.

Special Guest Appearance by Lubi the Chihuahua wearing Martha Stewart for PetSmart
Literally! Anything scarf, scarf related, wrap, etc. just screams chic in my book. You can take an ordinary outfit and completely change the vibe with one simple accessory. While there is a huge price range when in comes to scarves you really don’t need to spend a fortune to achieve the goal. This baby is from Forever 21 and cost a whopping $8.90. Hence, I bought 4 in different colours. Even my mum was taken by it. While there are a plethora of videos out there on how to tie or style a scarf sometimes the nonchalant approach says more. Just throw it over your shoulders. There’s something to be said for the “I didn’t try too hard” look. Give it a shot!
