So the calendar says spring. The thermometer says otherwise. Until the two reach an agreement I’m sticking with my boots and sweaters. I’m one of the few people who actually doesn’t look forward to spring and warm weather. Boots, sweaters, faux fur coats, scarves, layers — these are a few of my favourite things. Sorry everyone but I’m holding out as long as I can. I added the smallest touch of the new season with this amazing flower necklace my mum and dad brought back from France. Otherwise, in true Northeast spirit I’m in all black. All black doesn’t have to be boring if you mix up textures and prints as I did here with knits, lace and leather. The slightly edgier over-the-knee boots with my otherwise boho outfit added a little twist. Enjoy!

What is that, velvet?

What is that, velvet?

Yup. Purple velvet. It’s so soft! We all know that I’m the queen of the sale. When I saw the blazer and the boots both reduced with an extra 40% off they simply had to become mine. No questions. I had been coveting these on the Free People site since the beginning of the season and I waited and waited until I got such an amazing deal I couldn’t possibly pass it up. Embracing the velvet trend and the fringe trend and the over-the-knee boot trend in one outfit? Decadent!

Birthday Black and e.l.f

It’s been a while. How are you? Life’s been a little crazy to say the least, but here I am. Back with an outfit. It’s been driving me nuts that I haven’t had a chance to blog. Not to mention the early darkness that makes getting home in time for pictures not so easy! Anyway, enough blither. Enjoy my black outfit that I wore out for one of my birthday dinners. People think that all black can be boring but I think not. Mixing textures and hues adds interest and you can’t go wrong for a night out in the sultry shade.

Check out my makeup too. My eyes are courtesy of e.l.f Cosmetics as part of their #elfbeautysquad for their #playbeautifully campaign. I’ve seen e.l.f in the store before but had never indulged. I have to say I’m loving the Everyday Smoky Eyeshadow Palette and the Illuminating Palette is amazing!

Casual Transition

Is it true? Is fall really around the corner? Am I the only one looking forward to rich hues and cozy wraps? I certainly hope not. While I wish it was actually a cool enough evening to need this wrap it so wasn’t. I still have a hard time posting “normal” casual outfits. Real people wear tanks and jeans though so why not? My latest saga? Fibromyalgia. I’m in pain and there’s no way I can even think about a heel or a wedge or anything of the sort right now. If you have to wear flats they may as well be Gucci right? The drivers are so comfortable and soft. Highly recommend!
