#NYFW

Bucket list item… check! I have always wanted to go to New York Fashion week. It was a dream come true when Midori Linea’s PR team contacted me to attend their event. Sakura and I met a while back during a trunk show at Bloomingdale’s and we hit it off right away. She’s not only super talented, she’s super sweet. It all started with her designing a hand chain which you can see in my post here. Since then she has expanded into so many different areas. I’m obsessed with my latest necklace purchase. Stay tuned!

The W Hotel Downtown hosted the event and we were lucky enough to get an upgraded room with an amazing view of the Freedom Tower and the Oculus. The vibe there is very New York swanky chic. I don’t stay in the City so often since it’s only 45 minutes from my house but I wish I did. You can’t beat the energy of the hustle and bustle and everything it has to offer.

Then the panic sets in. Holy crap. What to wear to fashion week? I had gotten this outfit for another event and was supposed to be able to wear it on New Year’s Eve, but a sick hubby transformed my outfit into pyjamas. So not blogworthy. I think I nailed it! My hubby doesn’t usually enter the blog but he finally got to wear his very special Bloomingdale’s Exclusive Robert Graham shirt with crystals so I had to show you! Enjoy!

Oh! Lubi liked the room too!

Cheers!

She’s Crafty

When a mutual friend showed me this jewellery on Facebook I immediately pulled out my phone to follow. The Crafty Optician makes jewellery and accessories revolving around eyewear and the optical profession. Love that it encompasses two of my favourite things — jewellery and eyewear. Coleen was kind enough to send me three pieces to try out and for the post I chose the necklace and the stud earrings. Studs are key when you’re wearing winter attire. They don’t get stuck in your sweater and scarf! I wore these to work and everyone thought they were fabulous. They’re are adorable and well made and I’ve been wearing them non stop ever since I got them!

In this post I paired my new jewels with my favourite new boots and sweater. Go to winter look — jeans, boots, a big cozy sweater and a huge wrap scarf. It’s so warm and soft on those cold New Jersey days. Enjoy!

That time of year…

It never fails. Fall comes and I’m so excited about the change in weather and can’t wait to show you my fall outfits and then I remember how early it gets dark! Indoor pictures. So much more difficult! I love being able to wear fall colours and sweaters and boots though and I actually don’t even mind that it gets dark earlier. I like going out for supper after the sun sets. I know I’m weird. I’ve been told so a million times! It’s October so the breast cancer extensions are in — #survivor — and I’ve dyed the rest a deep purple though its hard to see in the pictures. It’s still quite warm here in the Northeast so I haven’t been able to break out the sweaters yet, but at least I’m in long flowing sleeves and long pants. Enjoy!

Golden Child

Slip dresses are a thing right now and I love it. They’re so silky and comfy. Like wearing your nightgown out on the town. The shimmery gold was just irresistible as was the strappy back. I’m still such a Free People fanatic! They technically call this a slip but I put a slip underneath so it wasn’t see through and voila — it’s a dress. I know the “naked dress” is all over right now but, um…. TMI. Add some cool shoes and accessories and there ya have it. Fun(ky) dinner outfit. And for someone I know who says cars are fashion, here you go. Enjoy!
