#NYFW

Bucket list item… check! I have always wanted to go to New York Fashion week. It was a dream come true when Midori Linea’s PR team contacted me to attend their event. Sakura and I met a while back during a trunk show at Bloomingdale’s and we hit it off right away. She’s not only super talented, she’s super sweet. It all started with her designing a hand chain which you can see in my post here. Since then she has expanded into so many different areas. I’m obsessed with my latest necklace purchase. Stay tuned!

The W Hotel Downtown hosted the event and we were lucky enough to get an upgraded room with an amazing view of the Freedom Tower and the Oculus. The vibe there is very New York swanky chic. I don’t stay in the City so often since it’s only 45 minutes from my house but I wish I did. You can’t beat the energy of the hustle and bustle and everything it has to offer.

Then the panic sets in. Holy crap. What to wear to fashion week? I had gotten this outfit for another event and was supposed to be able to wear it on New Year’s Eve, but a sick hubby transformed my outfit into pyjamas. So not blogworthy. I think I nailed it! My hubby doesn’t usually enter the blog but he finally got to wear his very special Bloomingdale’s Exclusive Robert Graham shirt with crystals so I had to show you! Enjoy!

Oh! Lubi liked the room too!

Cheers!

Loving Summer Leather

Loving Summer Leather

Last night we met great friends for supper at BLT Steak in Midtown Manhattan. The food and the company were fabulous. We found this beautiful fountain and some amazing architecture right on the corner.

I’m getting so excited for fall fashion that I broke out my stretch leather leggings for the evening. Summer leather has actually been quite the trend of late. When paired with open toe shoes and a lightweight flowing top it works quite well and gives off a nice, chic vibe. Genuine leather is great in the summer because the natural fabric breathes. Pleather or vegan leather is a good option in the winter, but is just too hot for a summer evening in the city. So excited to wear these with boots and sweaters!
