Back with Flare

Literally and figuratively. Ha. Anyhow… let’s just say I was skeptical of pulling off this trendy flare thing. First of all, I’m short. Second of all, just not sure. Flares are typically made for people who must be 7 feet 2 inches tall because most of the ones I’ve tried on are just ridiculously long. My favourite sales person at Free People assured me that I could pull it off and that she had a pair that would work. These are made with a raw hem so that you can cut them to any length. I tried them on with the highest heel I figured I would ever wear with them and cut them to fit those. Past that, let ‘em drag on the ground and fray a little more. What do you think? Did I pull it off?

Sloppy Pockets

Sloppy Pockets

Versatility. That’s what came to mind when I spied this fun little cardigan. It’s light enough and short sleeved so you can definitely don it over a tank in the summer yet a dark enough tone that it will make a great finishing piece over a long sleeved top of some sort in the fall or winter. Besides, who could pass up these awesome huge pockets? Since it is still summer (I say begrudgingly), I paired it with all white and added some edginess with destroyed skinnies. While I’m loving some of the wider leg pants that are out there these days I still love my skinnies and they allow me to wear those flowy tops I love so much!

Just Jeans and a Tank

Just Jeans and a Tank

That “blogworthy” word came up when we were going out to take pictures today. My favourite stylist at the Free People store liked it and told me to definitely blog this one so here it is! The tank is, of course, Free People and the jeans are old distressed boyfriend jeans that seemed to stand the test of time. So simple yet put together. Pairings can turn jeans and a tank into an outfit. The fancy racerback bralette that shows in the back, a belt, animal print Betula sandals and jewellery which is always key to adding interest to simplicity.

Shorts or Pants?

I believe I’ve mentioned previously that I’m really not a shorts person. I own a couple pair but hardly ever wear them. It’s so hot here though! When I found these…. ports (can’t decide if they’re pants or shorts) I was in love. Shorts with an eyelet overlay to turn them into pants. Perfection! They’re even breezier than a skirt and you can’t really tell that I have absolutely no tan whatsoever. I wore shorts the other night and was ridiculed by my nephew for my ghostly gams. Geez! Working girl problems!
