A family event this past Saturday evening called for some fancy attire. It’s fun to play dress up from time to time. I’ve had this little number for quite a while, but I think this is only the second time I have worn it. That’s the sad part about most fancy dresses. They don’t get to leave the cupboard and play very often and they’re usually not cheap. A friend of mine had this dress in a gold colour and I loved it so much I bought it in silver. So I’m not a complete copy cat! Of course the Louboutin pumps were a no brainer. I love those things! The one area where I always find myself borrowing is in the evening bag department. I never have the right one! Good thing my mum does! Anyway, we danced the night away and had a blast!
OK. So the truth is that I’ve been hoarding outfits to post the last couple weeks. I once again had surgery to replace the expander that had an issue after my first breast cancer surgery. I’m doing well this time. Everything is in place and no infections. I’m just not in a position to be putting on cute little outfits to be photographed. In fact, I think I may just cancel Valentine’s Day this year. While my amazing husband doesn’t care if I wear sweat pants and a huge top to hide all the goings on up there, I’m just not feeling so sexy and romantic at the moment. This outfit was the last set of pictures we took before my surgery. I love the flowing cardigan that’s see-through enough to let the stripes show. I also had to include my little Lubi. I gave him a bath that morning and he was just looking so fluffy and adorable. I couldn’t resist. He’s my little rock. He’s like a real live stuffed animal. He sleeps curled up beside me and goes to get daddy when I wake up so he can help me and he sits cuddled up next to me all day long.
I promise as I heal and start to look more normal more amazing outfits will follow. See you soon!!

There’s just something ironic about wearing a nice floral top and floral jewellery during a snow storm. Why not? This winter has been crazy so you have to have fun with it. Being that I was scheduled to have more surgery to remedy this whole breast cancer thing that I’ve been dealing with I decided that I would like to go out for a somewhat special supper before I was stuck in my house for a while. It’s especially difficult to pick footwear when you know you’re going to have to walk through some kind of slop even if there is valet parking. I love these platform booties but they are quite old so I just went with it. And wait until you hear about this fabulous jeans score. I found J Brand coated skinnies in my size, on clearance at Marshall’s for $25.00! Awesome!

I really have no idea who Lola is, but it’s a great little Latin Bistro by us with a very pretty fire pit outside. It’s not always possible to get in, so when they had space at the last minute we dashed out the door. I had a lousy week which means I went shopping this weekend. Everything is on sale now. Time to buy those boots and coats you’ve been coveting!
Black and gold is such a fabulous combination. It looks rich and put together no matter what you do. I saw this jacket and it was on sale for less than a third the regular price. It’s not like I don’t own a leather jacket, I just don’t own one like this! Then I couldn’t resist boots with matching gold studs. Too cool. Keeping the trend moving I put on a bunch of black and gold studded jewellery, a gold top and my favourite J Brand coated skinny black jeans.

I mean, after all, you can’t just celebrate for one evening can you? This outfit was for a special steak dinner in the town where I previously lived. While it’s a rather conservative town overall, I’m not so I went with a mix. The blouse is conservative just because it’s a blouse, but the two layers and animal print and flowing sleeves turned it up a notch. Instead of plain black pants I went with these Rag & Bone that have leather stitches on the bottom. The shoes; well… they are really amazing but they are truly what I refer to as “dinner shoes”. That’s pretty much all you can do in them. Sit and eat dinner. Walk to the car? Um…. no! Like my new Troll Bead bracelet? I’ll have to get details of each bead. It was a birthday gift from mum and dad. I can’t wait to go choose more! Lubi is wearing an adorable little number by Martha Stewart for PetSmart. Enjoy!
