Sunday Stars

So Sunday at work is jeans day. YAY!! I find it so much easier to get dressed when my beloved denim is involved. It’s fun to dress up and oh so nice to mix it up and not wear yet another pair of black pants. Making denim work appropriate isn’t always an easy task though. It definitely requires a nice top and shoes. No sweatshirts and sneakers with ripped jeans in the office. Right?

One of my favourite designers for shirts is Rails. The shirts are a little pricy but the quality and design are both great. They’re known for their plaids, but have some “fancier” options too. Nice shoes? Right up my alley. These are Prada found on sale at Saks and they’re so unbelievably comfortable. The platform gives me height but keeps my foot flat. Bonus! They also opened a new Saks Off 5th close to me where I found these jeans. Probably too close!

I have to mention this necklace and my current obsession with said necklace. Have you seen the show Schitt’s Creek? Hilarious! Watch! Alexis wears this sideways “A”. I found one on the Anthropologie website and the day I got a free shipping email I made it mine!

Enjoy!

Slip dresses are a thing right now and I love it. They’re so silky and comfy. Like wearing your nightgown out on the town. The shimmery gold was just irresistible as was the strappy back. I’m still such a Free People fanatic! They technically call this a slip but I put a slip underneath so it wasn’t see through and voila — it’s a dress. I know the “naked dress” is all over right now but, um…. TMI. Add some cool shoes and accessories and there ya have it. Fun(ky) dinner outfit. And for someone I know who says cars are fashion, here you go. Enjoy!

She’s Back!

To blog or not to blog? The answer is…. to blog. I realized during my absence/struggle that it truly is something I enjoy. Not to any particular end, but just to share and hopefully inspire. My obsession for all things fashion and style needs an outlet. I myself love to troll other people’s blogs and read all the fashion sites looking for inspiration and fresh finds. I had it in my head for so long that I had to be “blog worthy” every day. Way too much pressure. Even the most fashionable people out there wear things twice and find themselves in the comfort of sweats. Why can’t I? I can and will. I may even share some of those moments! While my daily life doesn’t allow for a post a day, I’m hoping to post once or twice a week. Sorry for being gone so long! Enjoy!

So this is one of my (hopefully) blog worthy outfits. Figured I should at least come back with one. I was going for an NYC appropriate look for our anniversary dinner. Yes. A dress over pants is a thing. Let me know how I did!

Sunset in the Secret Garden

There’s a special little place in the front of mum and dad’s house that mum calls the secret garden. She read the book to me when I was young. We had some time before supper to take pictures as the sun was setting and figured it was the perfect place. I couldn’t resist this cute egg hatching a baby dinosaur — too whimsical!

I found this cobalt blue top and immediately thought about wearing it with my Jimmy Choo sandals. I don’t get to wear them that often and even though we weren’t going anywhere fancy I decided to go for it. I figured wearing them with distressed jeans would dress them down a little. I love mixing fancy things with distressed jeans or something really casual. It just makes them that much cooler.
