Back In Black

I’m back in black and biker boots! Woohoo! So have I told you I like fall? I haven’t had a new piece from All Saints in quite some time so when mum and dad arrived home from Scotland with this top I was psyched. I love their oversized flowy clothes. The woman in the store recommended to my mum that I wear it with coated jeans. Coated jeans are a wardrobe staple in my book. Of course the black are perhaps the chicest thing on the planet, but I own them in other colours too. I went all out today and wore my new studded biker boots too. I was so excited about the fall air that I dove right in. I feel like me! There’s no turning back now!

Fall Firsts

There’s that first cool, crisp day when you wake up to chilly morning air and know you’re going to pull your booties out for the first time of the season. For me, this is heaven. I love, love, love fall weather and boots and sweaters — the works. While I’m usually in black come September I took my first fall step in blue this year. I didn’t have a lot of chances to wear these boots as I got them at the end of last season so it was nice to pull them out again and I was super excited to pair them with this blouse. I got it on super sale at Lord & Taylor! The back of it is lace so it makes it more than just a button down. It’s oversize so paired with skinny pants or jeans it gives off a vibe that’s just so me. I wore something fitted to work once and people actually commented that it was out of character. Stay true my friends!

Glamorous

OK, not me… the shirt. Another find from my love, the Savvy Department at Nordstrom. I do find it glamorous when at least part of your outfit is oversized and leaves something to the imagination. I’ve never been a big fan of body conscious or “body con” dressing. Putting it all out there from the get go is so not me. I do believe, however, that when you are wearing something oversized it has to be styled properly so that you don’t look like a frump. Since the shirt was the focal point of the outfit I paired it with simple rolled up jeans and nude wedges. Of course I piled on the jewellery though. Like my new watch?

Sunset in the Secret Garden

There’s a special little place in the front of mum and dad’s house that mum calls the secret garden. She read the book to me when I was young. We had some time before supper to take pictures as the sun was setting and figured it was the perfect place. I couldn’t resist this cute egg hatching a baby dinosaur — too whimsical!

I found this cobalt blue top and immediately thought about wearing it with my Jimmy Choo sandals. I don’t get to wear them that often and even though we weren’t going anywhere fancy I decided to go for it. I figured wearing them with distressed jeans would dress them down a little. I love mixing fancy things with distressed jeans or something really casual. It just makes them that much cooler.
