Jeans and a tee. Basic right? But there are so many different iterations! Jeans — blue, white, black? Tee — the possibilities are endless. I always find myself trying to be that graphic tee person and I never think it looks right. I do love a good v-neck though. Finding a good t-shirt doesn’t mean spending a lot of money. Latest plain tee obsession? Target! Mossimo v-neck at 3 for $20 is a total no brainer. They wash well and they’re super soft. Can’t beat it. For evening it’s so easy to take something as easy as this, throw on a kimono, change from sneakers to shoes (or not) and off you go. Elevate basic! Oh… Lubi found a friend on our pre-supper walk. How cute are they?

Is it true? Is fall really around the corner? Am I the only one looking forward to rich hues and cozy wraps? I certainly hope not. While I wish it was actually a cool enough evening to need this wrap it so wasn’t. I still have a hard time posting “normal” casual outfits. Real people wear tanks and jeans though so why not? My latest saga? Fibromyalgia. I’m in pain and there’s no way I can even think about a heel or a wedge or anything of the sort right now. If you have to wear flats they may as well be Gucci right? The drivers are so comfortable and soft. Highly recommend!

Possibly the last cool spring evening. So sad. I wish I could wear outfits like this in the summer but I just get way too overheated. I’m always hot. On another note — my pin straight hair seems to have decided that it would like to be wavy. Beachy cool or messy? What do you think?
Of course being the shopping diva that I am I hit the Memorial Day sales, like all weekend — #bloggerproblems! This tunic was on such super sale at Free People that I couldn’t leave it there. It just wouldn’t have been right! And it’s so soft and pretty. The new store that opened near me is amazing and the staff is awesome. I had a great time shopping and trying things on! The brand and the store create such a great vibe. I can’t get enough. Too bad it’s not actually free! More to come — must space out my exciting new finds!

There’s no easier way to achieve chic than flopping a jacket over your shoulders without even inserting your little arms into the sleeves. Not sure why this works so well, but go with it. Trust me. I love this leather jacket. The Aqua brand at Bloomingdale’s uses super soft leather and it’s never a million dollars. This one’s from last year so I’ll try to find you a similar one, but this one will be with me for years to come. Never give up on a good leather jacket. I was also totally into the fact that the hardware on my open toe booties was gold like the studs on the jacket. While I’ve gotten over not mixing my metals when it comes to jewellery, and even do it on purpose, I find that it ties the outfit together when something actually goes!

This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend the Arthur and Livingston Trunk Show and Necklace Bar event at Bloomingdale’s Short Hills and meet the amazing designer Nicole Antoinette. Both Nicole and her creations are absolutely lovely. I had a blast trying everything on and talking with her. It’s not often that you get to meet the inspiration behind what you wear. Such beautiful colours and concepts! I couldn’t help but get one for myself!
For my outfit I went with simple chic. I wanted a very simple top that would appropriately show off the jewellery. Fortunately it was a nice cool day so I got to pull out my new Chelsea boots for the first time. Yeah! It was also coincidentally right after I had my hair done. Perfect timing!
Don’t forget that these are the last few hours of the giveaway which ends at Midnight EST on September 24th! You too could win one of these amazing, trendy bar necklaces for yourself!

The second the temperature drops the tiniest little bit I get completely psyched for fall. I feel more like myself in dark colours and boots. I started out getting dressed this evening in much lighter coloured garb. I couldn’t do it. I kept looking in the mirror and wondering who was staring back at me. I’ve realized that you should stay true to who you are — doesn’t only apply to outfits. If you’re not comfortable in an outfit don’t wear it out. More importantly, don’t buy it. Only spend your money on pieces that call to you and make you feel awesome!

I swore I would never wear Birkenstocks. They’re hippie shoes. I’m not a hippie. I lied! I kept seeing them on people and thinking — not gonna happen! Well… it happened. It actually happened more than once, as you’ll soon see, but these are the first ones I’m sharing with all of you. Of course I had to be just a little bit different. I went for the shiny black patent ones. They were actually really hard to find, especially in my little size! The rest of the outfit is from Zara. I can’t believe I was so slow getting on that wagon. Figures that the only store remotely near me is now closed for renovations for about 3 months. Now what?
