Just Jeans and a Tank

Just Jeans and a Tank

That “blogworthy” word came up when we were going out to take pictures today. My favourite stylist at the Free People store liked it and told me to definitely blog this one so here it is! The tank is, of course, Free People and the jeans are old distressed boyfriend jeans that seemed to stand the test of time. So simple yet put together. Pairings can turn jeans and a tank into an outfit. The fancy racerback bralette that shows in the back, a belt, animal print Betula sandals and jewellery which is always key to adding interest to simplicity.

Simple Sunday

Simple Sunday

Working on Sundays. Not the best. Gotta do what ya gotta do. It’s really hard to get up early and motivate yourself to get dressed, put on makeup and do your hair after a Saturday night out, but you also can’t go to work looking like a mess. I went with soft neutral tones and punched it up a little with a fun animal print tank.

I’m so addicted to these Painted Threads cardigans! This one is made out of super soft t-shirt material. You can find them in the BP department at Nordstrom. They’re very reasonable and come in tons of colours. You should check them out! Had I realized that it was going to start snowing before I went home I probably would have gone with something other than suede boots! Oh well — too late!

Thanksgiving this year was a small family gathering that was also combined with Chanukah. That’s something that won’t happen again for tens of thousands of years. I included some pictures of the holiday table that my mum made look so nice for the combined occasion. Half the family was away and my poor hubby came down with what we now know is strep. Hopefully in 24 hours he’ll feel much better. I need him to take my blog pics! Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that calls for cozy dressing as opposed to a fussy LBD or something of that sort. Anything containing lycra is also a good idea since you’ll probably be feasting on many things! Also combining it with Chanukah you want to be able to hang with the kids. I threw on my favourite boyfriend jeans, a cute top and a sweater and boots and called it an outfit. The top is a pink and black snake print with leather yoke detail. How many trends can you put in one top? Love it! It was actually quite chilly so I got to wear my faux fur coat too. I picked it up at the Neiman’s outlet last winter and I get sooooo many compliments on it.

And The Festivities Continue

And The Festivities Continue

I mean, after all, you can’t just celebrate for one evening can you? This outfit was for a special steak dinner in the town where I previously lived. While it’s a rather conservative town overall, I’m not so I went with a mix. The blouse is conservative just because it’s a blouse, but the two layers and animal print and flowing sleeves turned it up a notch. Instead of plain black pants I went with these Rag & Bone that have leather stitches on the bottom. The shoes; well… they are really amazing but they are truly what I refer to as “dinner shoes”. That’s pretty much all you can do in them. Sit and eat dinner.  Walk to the car? Um…. no! Like my new Troll Bead bracelet? I’ll have to get details of each bead. It was a birthday gift from mum and dad. I can’t wait to go choose more! Lubi is wearing an adorable little number by Martha Stewart for PetSmart. Enjoy!
