Not gonna lie. I love a chilly spring day especially after the rest of the week was in the 90s. Yucky. Love the prospect of wearing a chunky spring sweater and an awesome pair of jeans and I’m embracing it fully while I still can without melting. I managed to incorporate a few trends into this outfit without it looking like I was trying too hard. Never look like you’re trying too hard! I half-tucked my chunky sweater with cool sleeves into my moto jeans to show off the zipper details. Check out the ripped knee and distressed bottoms. Cool right? If you’re looking for the most comfortable jeans ever give DL1961 a shot. I swear they’re as comfortable as leggings! Last but not least — mules. Any shoe you can remove in a matter of seconds is a winner in my book! I own these in 3 colours! Shhhhhh! Oh! Don’t forget to accessorize girlies! Jewellery and sunglasses make an outfit!

To blog or not to blog? The answer is…. to blog. I realized during my absence/struggle that it truly is something I enjoy. Not to any particular end, but just to share and hopefully inspire. My obsession for all things fashion and style needs an outlet. I myself love to troll other people’s blogs and read all the fashion sites looking for inspiration and fresh finds. I had it in my head for so long that I had to be “blog worthy” every day. Way too much pressure. Even the most fashionable people out there wear things twice and find themselves in the comfort of sweats. Why can’t I? I can and will. I may even share some of those moments! While my daily life doesn’t allow for a post a day, I’m hoping to post once or twice a week. Sorry for being gone so long! Enjoy!
So this is one of my (hopefully) blog worthy outfits. Figured I should at least come back with one. I was going for an NYC appropriate look for our anniversary dinner. Yes. A dress over pants is a thing. Let me know how I did!

I can’t tell you how excited I was when I received an invite to the “Fall For Free People” event at Bloomingdale’s in Bridgewater this past weekend. Free People and Bloomingdale’s — these are a few of my favourite things! It was also a Fashionable Fundraiser which was in support of amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to ending the global AIDS epidemic through innovative research. Shopping for a good cause is always a good thing and Bloomingdale’s pledges to make a donation of $75,000 to amfAR as part of the event. There was so much going on from refreshments, to a sketch artist who was drawing amazing fashion sketches of the shoppers and of course I was assisted by my favourite Bloomingdale’s stylist ever. He’s amazing and is always there as my partner in shopping crime! It was so much fun to meet all the great people from Bloomingdale’s and have the opportunity to blog the event. Coincidentally this past Sunday was three years from when I had my mastectomy (hence the pink outfit) so being able to be there and have fun was awesome. Even Lubi got in on the action! Thanks Bloomies!

The Northeast has been nothing short of brutal when it comes to heat and humidity. Even Lubi couldn’t take it and he loves the heat! What does one wear? Nothing that touches you anywhere! Enter the romper. I found this adorable little number at the #ZaraSale. How can you go wrong for a whopping $13.00? It’s super light weight and how cute are the tassles on the sides? It’s been my go to for these scorching days. This one is sold out online but maybe you’ll get lucky and find one in the store. Also totally obsessed with these rose gold Birkenstocks. Actually, I’m pretty much obsessed with everything rose gold. The soft footbed keeps your feet cool and comfortable too!

Normcore is described as a unisex fashion trend characterized by unpretentious, normal-looking clothing. While I adore standout fashion sometimes you just have to chill out and be “normal”! “Brad Goreski’s Basics for Normcore Living” are featured below including two of my faves — Adidas Superstar sneakers and Birkenstock sandals. Comfort and style. Brad Goreski is a world renowned stylist and television personality, not to mention a fellow Canadian!
I was asked to sample Lubriderm lotion which is one Brad’s Basics. Lubriderm is awesome. It provides so much moisture but doesn’t leave your skin feeling coated or sticky. It’s also perfect for the entire family. No heavy scent means everyone can use it. Try it! You’ll like it! I do! Check out Brad’s essentials and my favourite normcore pic with my adorable “little” nephew! We can’t get enough of our Adidas!
How cute are we in our normcore state?

Every once in a blue moon we get a nice cool summer evening. Enter the tunic. Offering versatility in seasonal and styling options it’s a must have in my closet. For summer, I chose to wear it with white distressed jeans and slip on loafers for a laid back, chic vibe. I can see it working for fall with perhaps leggings and an awesome pair of boots. (BTW can’t wait for fall!) Oh.. Don’t forget your accessories! Really. They can make an outfit. That age-old rule of taking off one piece before you leave the house. Forget it! An amazing pair of sunglasses will complete the look. Essential!
