I can’t tell you how excited I was when I received an invite to the “Fall For Free People” event at Bloomingdale’s in Bridgewater this past weekend. Free People and Bloomingdale’s — these are a few of my favourite things! It was also a Fashionable Fundraiser which was in support of amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to ending the global AIDS epidemic through innovative research. Shopping for a good cause is always a good thing and Bloomingdale’s pledges to make a donation of $75,000 to amfAR as part of the event. There was so much going on from refreshments, to a sketch artist who was drawing amazing fashion sketches of the shoppers and of course I was assisted by my favourite Bloomingdale’s stylist ever. He’s amazing and is always there as my partner in shopping crime! It was so much fun to meet all the great people from Bloomingdale’s and have the opportunity to blog the event. Coincidentally this past Sunday was three years from when I had my mastectomy (hence the pink outfit) so being able to be there and have fun was awesome. Even Lubi got in on the action! Thanks Bloomies!

goo.ey – Design-led phone cases inspired by art and fashion. goo.ey cases stick to glass and mirror so you can enjoy your device hands free.
I was so excited to receive this case. First of all — it’s sparkly. Second of all — it’s pink. Breast cancer survivor — must have pink. This particular case is from the Phoebe Lettice collection but they have many amazing designer collections to choose from. The coolest thing is that instead of taking a selfie with your arm swinging in the breeze or holding a stick in front of you it sticks to glass so you’re hand’s free! You can then set the timer while you position yourself properly or, if you have an Apple Watch you can control your camera with that and hit the button when you’re ready.
I love that you can take a whole body selfie and get all sorts of different outfit angles. I do have to admit that I was terrified to hang my phone on a mirror or window, but it didn’t fall! It really sticks! Don’t let the name deceive you. You’re not actually walking around with a sticky gooey phone case. It’s perfectly smooth but the material also keeps it from slipping around too much if you rest it on your desk or a table. Love it!
Here are some shots I took playing around with my new goo.ey case. Enjoy!

I feel like I sound like an advertisement for Free People. It’s bordering on obsession. I can’t help how much I love everything by them! This tank is a new and super reasonable addition to their lineup. I restrained myself and bought only one colour. See… I can do it. They also have the best pretty, seamless and comfortable intimates. I had no idea! How neat is this showing out the back of the tank? It also doesn’t hurt after all of the breast cancer surgeries. And for a chilly spring evening this cocoon wrap does the trick without overheating. Perfect.

Today my blog turns 3! While I haven’t accomplished everything I wished when I started my blog I look back at some of my old posts and realize how much I’ve grown as a blogger. My main goal now is to blog more frequently and consistently. I hope you all continue to enjoy my posts and are inspired by my outfit choices. Thank you all for following me throughout my challenges with breast cancer and bearing with me. This blog would be nothing without all of you! And now for my French inspired, yet funky in its own way outfit…

So for this first day of spring we had a snow storm. Go figure. I wouldn’t have minded if I hadn’t had to go into New York for the day. What a mess! Oh well — the positive — I can still wear my favourite winter clothes. Oh how I’ll miss them.
I know people have a thing against Abercrombie & Fitch but they have some really nice pieces and the prices are so reasonable. I paired a soft classic white shirt with high waisted, faux leather leggings, booties and an oversized wrap. So simple, but so chic. I’ve always wanted to try the exposed black bra under a white shirt but never felt it appropriate. I finally decided that I didn’t care. Since my reconstruction post breast cancer I don’t actually need a bra for functional purposes so I’m obsessed with these little Calvin Klein bralettes. They look like a tank and they’re seamless and wireless so they don’t hurt.
Oh… one last thing. Can we talk about these Prada sunglasses? Fabulous doesn’t even begin to describe!

There’s no easier way to achieve chic than flopping a jacket over your shoulders without even inserting your little arms into the sleeves. Not sure why this works so well, but go with it. Trust me. I love this leather jacket. The Aqua brand at Bloomingdale’s uses super soft leather and it’s never a million dollars. This one’s from last year so I’ll try to find you a similar one, but this one will be with me for years to come. Never give up on a good leather jacket. I was also totally into the fact that the hardware on my open toe booties was gold like the studs on the jacket. While I’ve gotten over not mixing my metals when it comes to jewellery, and even do it on purpose, I find that it ties the outfit together when something actually goes!

So it appears that I’ve been in a little bit of a blogging slump lately. Part of that I can blame on my most recent surgery, but not all of it. For those of you who don’t know, I’ve been undergoing surgery for breast cancer and reconstruction for more than a year now. I’m happy to say that I’m healthy and my surgeries are finally coming to an end. On with life.
As for the rest of the slump… not sure quite honestly. Maybe I just got discouraged and felt like I wasn’t making a difference or being noticed by the blogging world to the degree that I would ultimately like. How do some of these bloggers get so much attention? Maybe I wasn’t feeling “blogworthy” — a word that my husband made up to describe my outfit’s potential to go public. Maybe I didn’t think anyone cared about my outfits or my style advice. Or, maybe after undergoing six surgeries I was just too damn tired to get dressed, smile (or at least pose) for pictures and write about it. It could have been any of those really. Have any of you bloggers experienced this?
Anyhow, here I am, back at it and ready to bombard the world with my #OOTDs. New design and all. I realized that I enjoy it which is why I started doing this in the first place. I love fashion and I love sharing my ideas and personal style. Thank you all for following me and allowing me to temporarily slump!
